WP Title: In depth analysis of maintenance requirements for a Smart maintenance system

Description: The WP will undertake integrative analysis linking the main key actors/issues. Then, it will define the relevant elements, aspects and operations of the railway maintenance to be involved in this initiative, the data and expert knowledge to be considered for that goal, and the standards and regulations to be taken into account for these maintenance goals. Thus, functional requirements and technical specifications of new tools will be defined in order to design the conceptual model of this framework.

WP Title: Analysis of the transferability of tools

Description: This WP will undertake the analysis of maintenance and linked decision support tools used in other sector (such as electricity, oil & gas and water distribution, and airspace) and their applicability to the railway domain.

WP Title: Tool conceptual design

Description: This WP will ensure the alignment of the maintenance needs, ICT requirements and constrains, the case studies requirements and the Fuzzy-CI based core tool set, in order to design the correct integration of the functional and operative blocks for the proposal of a framework for a smart framework regarding railway infrastructure management.

WP Title: Development of Fuzzy and Computational Intelligence based models for maintenance management.

Description: The main goal of this WP is the development of intelligent models (mainly based on fuzzy techniques) to achieve an effective representation of railway infrastructures, maintenance, management, and traffic processes. Thus, the improved models for maintenance prediction and planning will allow building new smart tools.

WP Title: Integration and Usability validation of models

Description: This WP is devoted to the design of a useful Lab validation scheme, from a technological point of view, for the conceptual framework design carried out in WP3. Through this scheme, a validation guideline will be provide for the full or partial implementations of the OPTIRAIL framework that will be ensure the key points and performances of the OPTIRAIL framework functionality and usability.

WP Title: Case studies’ pilot tests

Description: The main objective of WP 6 is to validate the usability of the developed tools for the railway industry. Two pilot tests will be carried out in Spain and Sweden in order to validate the use of the developed technology in the railway infrastructure.

WP Title: Dissemination and Networking

Description: The dissemination, promotion and exposure of the project results will be done within this WP. A number of actions will be implemented to facilitate this diffusion of the project achievements and a special focus will be put on the coordination to expose the project results to the industrial and research communities.

WP Title: Project Management and Coordination

Description: The coordinator of the OPTIRAIL project is in charge of all the coordination activities, and this project management work package will ensure the correct administration of the entire proposal and secure achievement of project objectives within budget, quality and deadlines.
